Counselor Qualifications

The greatest indicator of treatment success is fidelity to the CM treatment model and utilization of the Training Support System and Lead Trainer clinical support. The more closely a therapist is able to replicate the CM interventions in their clinical practice the greater the chances of success. However, a good foundation for rapid uptake of this treatment model is clinical professionals who have formal training in social work, counseling, family therapy, psychology or psychiatry. Professionals interested in becoming a CM provider should have prior knowledge or training in cognitive-behavioral and behavioral interventions and have experience working with youth and families.
